We did some more research and it turns out there’s a [64-bit float version of nifti headers](https://www.nitrc.org/docman/view.php/26/1302/nifti2_doc.html), but apparently [ITK doesn’t support it](https://discourse.itk.org/t/nifti-1-or-nifti-2-data-format/4330).

Does anyone know if nifti2 ever caught on? Maybe @Chris_Rorden?
