### Meeting Notes
#### Slicer 5.8.1 Patch Release
- **Release Timeline** : The patch release process will begin between **February 28 and March 1**.
- **Tracking Progress** : Updates will be tracked in [Issue #8258](https://github.com/Slicer/Slicer/issues/8258).
- **Backport Review** :
- Reviewed **pull requests** to be backported to **5.8.1**.
- Contributors should **use the label** **[backport:5.x](https://github.com/Slicer/Slicer/issues?q=label%3Abackport%3A5.x%20)** for PRs that require backporting.
#### Feature Finalization
We are moving forward with finalizing the following features:
- **[PR #8210](https://github.com/Slicer/Slicer/pull/8210)** – **Multi-layer Support** : Adds functionality for managing and blending an **arbitrary number of layers** in the Slice viewer.
- **[PR #8143](https://github.com/Slicer/Slicer/pull/8143)** – **Slice View Annotations** : Adds support for **configuring Slice view annotations**.
- **[PR #8148](https://github.com/Slicer/Slicer/pull/8148)** – **Curved Planar Reformation (CPR)**: Integrates **CPR support** into Slicer core.
#### **MorphoDepot**
- **Git Installation on All Platforms** :
- **@pieper** will explore using **Pixi Global** to ensure Git is installed across all platforms.

#### **SlicerVirtualReality: QR Code Support in OpenXR**
- **Integration with Upstream VTK** :
- Support for **QR Code scanning in OpenXR** is being integrated into upstream **VTK**.

- **XR\_MSFT\_scene\_understanding Extension** :
- This extension provides **real-time runtime information** about the **real-world environment**.
