# Does Slicer use Interpolation when rendering DICOMs

I am having some thresholding issues that I think may be associated with how slicer renders the DICOMs. Does slicer use an interpolation algorithm when rendering DICOMs? Or does it retain the image intensity?

You can turn on/off in-plane interpolation with the following button:
