# Draft-writer group and Draft category

A new category named `Draft` visible only to member of the group [draft-writer](https://discourse.slicer.org/groups/draft-writer) was created.

It allows to leverage the [shared draft](https://meta.discourse.org/t/shared-drafts-allow-staff-to-collaborate-on-posts-before-publishing/83493) feature of Discourse and is used to draft posts before publicly releasing them. (e.g Release Announcement)

## shared draft category settings

The `draft` category was then set as `shared draft category` in the settings.

I have added the draft-writer group to the `shared_drafts_allowed_groups`:

Reason: Some members of the draft-writer group were unable to view a post in the drafts category that is a shared draft. They can see other things in the “draft” category that we created, but not necessarily something that is also a “shared draft” in the discourse sense. And indeed this is what I see at the top of a shared draft that has not been published:

I am hoping this change fixes the issue.
