# How to do use a segmention tools such as scissor on STL structure

HI dear all ,  
First of all let me thanks each and every member here for continuous help and support. they have been of a great help to me

today I am here again with a question of how can I use a segmentation tools such as scissor on STL structure

You can convert the model to a segmentation - see info in [importing](https://slicer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user_guide/modules/segmentations.html#import-an-existing-segmentation-from-model-surface-mesh-file) and [editing](https://slicer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user_guide/modules/segmentations.html#editing-a-segmentation-imported-from-model-surface-mesh-file) a mesh using Segment Editor.
