# how to improve the CenterLine extraction

Hello,

Need to extract the centerlines from a stl file. Please see the attached pictures. Really overwhelmed but the bunch of controls/options available. Could somebody with expertise give some guidelines/directions to follow ? Any output is highly appreciated.

It’s only in the third image that I see a weird path of the centerline on the left end. The Network centerline is purely geometric, the Tree centerline is based on the maximum inscribed sphere. The ‘Cross-section analysis’ module can show you the maximum inscribed sphere. What is troubling you with the centerlines?
