# Mandible reconstruction with rib with Slicer

I gave a talk at an event of Case Western Reserve University for the School of Dental Medicine and the School of Engineering about [GitHub - SlicerIGT/SlicerBoneReconstructionPlanner: 3D Slicer module for planning mandible reconstruction surgery using fibula flap](https://github.com/SlicerIGT/SlicerBoneReconstructionPlanner)

I was asked: Could you do the reconstruction with a rib instead of a fibula?  
I said I don’t know.

Today I naively tried. Below is the result.

A specialized on mandible reconstruction surgeon told me this result was fantastic.
