# Slicer 5.8.0, why not change the segment name just in the place by double click without popup

We are moving towards a more comprehensive experience with terminologies, which includes a lot of improvements around terminologies (like what you noticed, that now the name editing also pops up the terminology editor), but we also allow turning off terminologies altogether in Application Settings.

From your screenshot I see that you probably would benefit from keeping using terminologies. By showing the selector on editing the segment name, we further encourage using terminologies instead of free text (for a more standard identification of segments, to avoid typos and thus AI model training problems, etc.).

Can you explain why this is a problem for you?

Thanks for your reply!  
I turn off the “use standard terminology for segment” in the Application Settings, and name or color could be changed simply as before.  
This is not a big problem. At first I mistakenly thought it was a bug.  
Maybe I just get used to change name or color of segment in an easy or familiar way.  
I understand what you said and I will get used to your improvement gradually.
