# 📣 SlicerModalityConverter - New update and models available

We’ve expanded the [ModalityConverter extension](https://github.com/ciroraggio/SlicerModalityConverter/) with two new AI models for medical image-to-image translation:

- CBCT to Synthetic CT (Head & Neck)
- CT to Synthetic PET (Chest), based on the study:  
Salehjahromi M, Karpinets TV et al., “Synthetic PET from CT improves diagnosis and prognosis for lung cancer: Proof of concept”, Cell Reports Medicine, 2024, [10.1016/j.xcrm.2024.101463](https://doi.org/10.1016/j.xcrm.2024.101463).
