You can [choose a different rendering preset](https://slicer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/developer_guide/script_repository.html#show-volume-rendering-automatically-when-a-volume-is-loaded) and [set rendering technique to `slicer.vtkMRMLViewNode.Composite`](https://slicer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/developer_guide/script_repository.html#show-volume-rendering-using-maximum-intensity-projection).
