Unfortunately, even clinical device manufacturers misuse the DICOM standard in every possible way, so consistency checks are necessary for safety-critical applications. @fedorov I didn’t suggest not sorting frames, just explaining why the issue probably hasn’t come up much in practice. In my (admittedly very limited) experience I’ve only ever seen non-sorted frames come from converters.
