I am doing Fat segmentation for Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue (SAT) and Visceral Adipose Tissue(VAT) with 3D-slicer using Thresholding and Grow from seeds modules. HU for both are considered between -190 to -30. However, some parts in VAT segmentation left behind and won’t be tracked down in some slides and it causes double check and paint manually. My question is if there is any specific fat segmentation for SAT and VAT. Also is there any module or extension for summing slice thicknesses? My data base slice thickness is 2.5mm and I am wondering if there is anyway to increase thickness to 5mm or 10mm? I used resampling scalar volume for this purpose but I lost image resolution as a result!
