I am trying to figure out the hounsfield units for 3 separate slices of axial images of proximal humerus. I used the segementation editor to create segments, then used the paint feature–> set the threshold to 0-1600–> painted my segment to only include non-cortical bone–> did this for the 3 slices–> segmentation quantification–> gathered the mean hu’s for each segmentation.
My issue lies in the variabliity between patients. Some slices give me a mean hu of 200 and others a mean of 60.Am I going about this correctly?
