Outer measurement technique to define bivalve morphological characteristics.

Hi Slicer folks. I’m an aquatic ecologist looking for a detailed outer measurement technique that will produce the appropriate number of referenced measurements to accurately distinguish species with nuanced outer shell variation. See the attached 3d image for an example image. I have an app that will create a xyz output of multiple measurements (from what point I’m not sure) and am wondering if something similar could be achieved in Slicer with the benefit of having some control as to where the measurements originate from.

Any help would be much appreciated.
