This is where new features of Slicer will be announced!

If you watch this category you will be among the first to know when new features are available in the new Nightly and Release builds.

Usage:

  • Developers should always post here whenever a new feature or bug fix is committed to the repository
  • The post should be a short summary so people are aware of what’s changed in the Nightly since they last version they looked at
  • Links to pull requests, commits, or labs pages can be included for more detail
  • Updates to extensions should also be announced here!
  • When a new Release is declared, the information here will serve as the Release Notes

JC, considering the Release notes on the wiki are not populated (e.g., see the one for 4.10: https://www.slicer.org/wiki/Documentation/4.10/ReleaseNotes), should we

  • add links to the release notes on Slicer forum from the corresponding pages on the wiki?
  • add a note that release notes on the wiki are deprecated?
  • something else?

Make sense.

I just updated the Release Notes wiki page found in the wiki to list the posts in the discussion forum. See Documentation/4.10/ReleaseNotes - Slicer Wiki

The release process has also been updated to ensure future releases will be referenced from the wiki. See Documentation/Nightly/Developers/ReleaseProcess - Slicer Wiki
