In the next PW43 preparation meeting (Tuesday, June 10), in addition to the discussion about new projects, we will create a tentative schedule for breakout sessions. Until then, please reply to this message if you want to propose a breakout session. Please write 2-3 sentences describing your idea for the session.
Proposal: AR, VR and rendering in Slicer
This session will discuss the status of Augmented and Virtual reality functionality in Slicer as well as recent/future improvements to the 3D rendering infrastructure, with a focus on the status of the transition from OpenGL to WebGPU for the rendering backend.
Dynamic physiology for human digital twins. Focus: using slicer to go from a static CT scan of a patient to a digital twin model that has respiratory and cardiac motion. Ultimately will incorporate more data from other modalities for more precise patient specific motion estimations and simulations of blood flow and estimation of forces. Useful for minimally invasive surgical planning, guidance, and outcome prediction. Goal of breakout: learn of ongoing work and build community.
