the markups plugin extends the curve markups node , you can narrow or enlarge the area like the picture below

Yes, this feature is implemented called Curved Planar Reformat and it is provided by the Sandbox extension.

Curved planar reformat module does what you show in the screenshot. Draw a markup curve, set the input volume, the output transform or volume and you are good. You can specify the slice size on the left panel (not using the curve widget in the view).
