Hello everyone,
I am working on understanding post-operative imaging and 3D visualization workflows related to DIEP flap breast reconstruction cases.
In a recent clinical scenario, I observed some challenges in interpreting post-surgical anatomy changes using standard CT/MRI datasets. Since DIEP flap breast reconstruction involves abdominal tissue transfer and vascular reattachment, post-operative imaging can become complex for clear anatomical visualization.
I am trying to explore how 3D Slicer can be used effectively for:
- Segmenting reconstructed breast tissue vs native tissue
- Understanding abdominal donor site changes after flap harvest
- Visualizing vascular structures in pre- and post-operative scans
- Comparing anatomical symmetry after reconstruction
- Improving clarity of surgical outcome visualization for educational or planning purposes
If there are recommended workflows, plugins, or published examples related to DIEP flap reconstruction or similar autologous tissue reconstruction cases in 3D Slicer, I would appreciate guidance.
Thank you.
