Problems with CPU and grow from seeds

Hello! I need a little help understanding the ideal hardware section for this function to work quickly. I’m currently working with a computer that has 32GB DDR5, 5600MHz RAM, an Intel i5-14600KF, and an RTX 4070Ti Super. And working with some models when trying to grow from seeds it easily takes more than a few hours. Monitoring I have realized that both the RAM and the disk (M.2 SSD) are at 100% and the CPU rarely goes over 10% usage. Does the low CPU usage have to do with why it takes so long or does it have to do with other things? I would like to take this opportunity to check how is the performance of 3D Slicer on an AMD CPU? I was thinking of acquiring one that will last several years and be good for work like the Ryzen 9 9950X

It sounds like you are memory bound and swapping. Easiest is to try cropping the volume (either cut down just to the needed ROI or reduce the resolution with the Crop Volume module). Or just get more RAM if you need to work at full volume.
