Schengen visa for Spain from USA

Hi, my mentor advised me to attend the Slicer project week in Spain. Is there anyone here that applied for Schengen visa through BLS from USA before?

  1. Which visa is applicable for this case: tourist or business?
  2. Will Slicer organizers give us an invitation letter for this purpose or should we use project week’s registration confirmation?
  3. Should we fill the online BLS form to take appointment? Or should we fill the paper copy?

In terms of visa, the most relevant thing is your nationality (what passport you have). Please visit the official websites for conditions of entering Spain:

Please make absolutely sure that you keep informed from the official sources, as there are fraudulent sites around.

Also I’d like to suggest that you attend at least one preparation meeting if you haven’t (I couldn’t make it yesterday so not sure if you were there, but generally I do). Announcements are made on the forum avery week, and the meetings are on Tuesday 10AM Boston time.
